Basket
Have you ever given or received a gift basket and wondered
what to do with the bulky basket afterwards? Have you ever wanted to
ship a gift basket cross-country only to have problems finding a box
big enough to accommodate the huge handle or be daunted by the shipping
weight? I've been in both situations numerous times and that is why
I came up with this solution: a basket that is lightweight and sturdy,
yet is also fashionable and easy to store--ready for future re-gifting
with new contents!
This particular example is made of a cotton print (a
darker brown than the picture shows) with a four-strand handle made
from the same material. The 8 inch base and 6 inch high sides are lightly
padded with polyester low-loft quilt batting. It is sturdy and roomy
enough to contain an average-sized hardback book, a coffee mug, gourmet
coffee/tea packets and a tin of cookies with no trouble whatsoever for
local or long-distance gift giving. It also makes a lovely knitting
basket for a project on-the-go or just to keep nice and tidy by the
couch.
$12.00 (basket as shown or similarly constructed one).
